Senior Data Analyst

A.    POSITION PURPOSE

To analyze financial data, generate insightful reports, and support decision-making processes by assisting the Finance MIS team in UAE. This role involves developing and maintaining financial models, performing data analysis, and ensuring accurate reporting of key financial metrics.

B.    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

•    Design, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and data extraction processes using Brio and Oracle databases.
•    Collaborate with finance professionals to develop tailored reporting solutions and automate manual data extraction tasks.
•    Lead the implementation of data science tools and methodologies to unlock business insights and support predictive analysis.
•    Manage and handle large datasets efficiently, ensuring data integrity and performance.
•    Work closely with the IT and Finance teams  to introduce new technologies and methodologies that enhance data processing.
•    Support the MIS team by training and mentoring team members on data extraction tools, SQL queries, and best practices in data handling. 
•    Identify and resolve issues related to data processing, ensuring optimal database performance.
•    Assist in developing data architectures and models to support evolving business needs.
•    Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data science, analytics, and database management.

C.    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with Data Science specialization.
•    Minimum of 7 years of post qualification experience in a data engineering or similar IT role, preferably within financial services.
•    Effective communicator
•    Highly analytical and must have strong data analysis and data story telling skills
•    Proficiency in SQL, Python/R and experience working with Oracle databases.
•    Experience with data extraction tools such as Brio (Hyperion) and a solid understanding of database management.
•    Knowledge of data science principles and familiarity with associated tools in data analytics platforms.
•    Ability to manage large datasets and work with complex data queries.
•    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with non-technical teams.
•    Experience in financial services, remittances, or retail operations is a plus.
•    Ability to work in fast paced environment performing deep dive analysis using large data sets with tight deadlines for submission of inputs.
•    Strategic thinking and business orientation
•    Experience with machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling.
•    Familiarity with cloud data solutions and data warehousing.
